A real couch!
Our apartment is almost ready to have pictures taken of it. There are still a bunch of things we want to do to improve it, but it has all the essentials now. Our couch arrived today from IKEA. We ended up buying a Värnamo (which doesn't seem to be on their website) for $300, and then we might buy another more expensive couch once we have income again (the only problem is that it might not fit through our door, since the Värnamo only barely fit). It's a pretty good couch for the price. It only came in sage green, and we also bought a lamp shade with sage green, cream, and navy stripes on it, so I guess that's our living room color scheme now. We didn't put much thought into it, but it's a fine set of colors for us.
We walked around our neighborhood a little bit just now and realized that there's a nice park less than a block away from us, if we take a secret short cut behind our group of apartments. That's great! The only downside is that there's a scary old man living in his truck in the park's parking lot, and he came out and threatened to shoot anyone who tries to steal his stuff when we walked by. I'm glad Patrick was with me. That makes the park a little less appealing. Maybe he doesn't live there all the time though...
Anyway, we're both really happy with this apartment. It's beginning to feel like home :) I'm glad we live here.
